Annual Meeting

Our 70th Annual Meeting will be held on December 6th, 2017 at the Glenn Gallagher Centre at 1450 Gambier Road in Mount Vernon.  You may cast your vote in the election for one seat on the Board of Directors between 6:15pm and 7:00pm. The plated dinner starts at 7:00pm and will include Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, country style green beans, salad and rolls and Strawberry short cake for dessert. A vegetarian plate is available, but will need to be requested when ordering tickets. Tickets are $15.00 each and are on sale now. You can order tickets by mailing in a check to the Knox SWCD, or by coming into the Knox SWCD office. Checks need to be mailed by November 17th, 2017 and addressed to Knox SWCD, PO Box 270, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.

Knox SWCD holds a silent auction at Annual Meeting and all the proceeds go to the Agriculture Scholarship fund. A one thousand dollar scholarship is awarded yearly to a Knox County student as they pursue an environmental or agricultural degree. Last year, we awarded the scholarship to Caitlyn Gaddis who graduated from Fredericktown and is studying Animal Science/Pre-Vet Medicine from the University of Findlay. Please consider donating this year so we can reach our goal and help support our local students. Knox SWCD has provided scholarships since 2008 and we would like to continue this program.

Examples of what a donation could be are gift baskets, agricultural products, handmade items or gift cards. If you own your own business, a donated gift card would not only advertise your business but would bring in business. Any donation is appreciated no matter how big or small. If you are interested in donating, please email Amie Allen at or call 740-393-6724. Your donated item will need to be dropped off to the Knox SWCD office on or before December 1st. We will be more than happy to pick up any donated item. We hope that you will consider supporting our cause as we continue to provide scholarships to the students in our community.

If you have any questions, please contact Amie Allen at the Knox SWCD office at (740) 393-6724 or via email at

We hope to see you there!
